Summary: Sometimes, you just have to let your feelings out. Post war RavenxReese.

	Remorse

Reese stood facing the bright, moonlit sky. It was cold and windy outside, but she didn't mind. Being inside with Raven seemed too much to bear at the moment.

Specula's mechanical steps announced her arrival. She planted herself next to Reese and let out a roar of affection. Absentmindedly, the young woman lifted her hand and patted the Organoid's head.

"I'll go in later," Reese told her.

Raven sat, hunched, against the cold brick of the fireplace. He sighed as Reese came in and got up to approach her. She looked up at him and smiled a bittersweet smile.

"I guess we're both at a loss," she said.

"Yeah. I have to admit, life gets boring without strife."

"We've been so used to conflict... Now that it has died down, we feel empty." Reese took his hand in hers and gave it a gentle squeeze.

"Reese," Raven began. Tears welled up and before he realized it, he was clinging to her. The Ancient Zoidian staggered under his weight and she fell into a sitting position. Tears of her own started spilling.

"It's okay, Raven," she reassured him, all the while stroking his hair.

All the things they had done the past few years had suddenly dawned on them. The remorse was too much.
In her mind's eye, Reese could see Nicholo's blurry face. She bit her lip hard and drew blood. Guilt ate at her. He needn't have died. If only she'd known that they would kill him, she would have gone with them. He was the only person who had been truly kind to her. Well, until Raven showed up.

Raven sobbed into her bosom. His past went through his mind in a flash not unlike the vision Reese showed him. His parents' mangled bodies lay on the floor as Ambient swished his tail in victory. He could remember the anguish he had felt at that time.

Prozen raised him like his own kin. He taught him to fight and he gave him Shadow. Though Raven wasn't sure if he should be entirely grateful to him. After all, Prozen taught him to hurt others.

The broken shutters above them rattled in the wind as they silently comforted each other. Their Organoids watched them at a distance. Both knew that their companions needed human warmth and they chose to respect that.

Reese lifted Raven's chin up so that their faces met. He looked so vulnerable then. So childlike.
"We can... We can make up for everything we've done," she assured him.

**A/N:** So sorry. Quite a long gap from Black & Blue. To be honest I ran out of plots for these two. I hope to write more, though.
